Tour de France Stage 8 Preview

Tim Merlier won Stage 7 of the 2026 Tour de France in a sprint finish, edging out rivals after a shoulder-to-shoulder battle, with Fernando Gaviria fading in the final 150 metres. Stage 8, previewed here for Friday 10 July 2026, covers 180km from Bergerac to Périgueux with 1,150m of vertical gain. The sprint hierarchy remains unclear after two bunch sprint stages, with both Olav Kooij and Merlier having taken wins.
