Tour de Romandie 2026 Preview: Will Pogačar and UAE (re)assert their dominance in the Swiss mountains?

The Tour de Romandie 2026, reaching its 79th edition, will see Tadej Pogačar lead UAE Team Emirates as he continues his Tour de France preparations, replacing defending champion João Almeida who won last year's edition by climbing from third to first on the closing mountain time trial. The race, held in Switzerland, has been part of the top tier of professional cycling since 2011. Several teams including Alpecin-Premier Tech, Uno-X, Lotto-Intermarché, and Decathlon CMA CGM have opted to use their annual wildcard to skip the event.
