Tuch traded to Capitals by Sabres, signs 8-year, $84 million contract
Alex Tuch has been traded from the Buffalo Sabres to the Washington Capitals in a sign-and-trade deal, with Buffalo receiving forward David Kampf and a 2027 third-round draft pick. As part of the move, the 30-year-old signed an eight-year, $84 million contract ($10.5M AAV) before being sent to Washington. Tuch recorded 33 goals and 66 points in 79 regular-season games this past season, finishing second on the Sabres in goals behind Tage Thompson's 40.
