Turkish government says Formula 1 is returning next year on a 5-year deal

The Turkish government announced that Formula 1 will return to Istanbul Park circuit next season for the first time since 2021, under a new five-year agreement. The deal was set to be formally announced at an event featuring Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, and FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Istanbul Park previously hosted F1 from 2005 to 2011, and then again in 2020 and 2021 during COVID-19 disruptions, with Valtteri Bottas winning the most recent race for Mercedes.
