Two-division boxing champ Zolani Tete shot dead outside home in South Africa
Two-time world boxing champion Zolani Tete, 38, was shot and killed outside his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, South Africa on Friday. Two masked gunmen fired on Tete and a 27-year-old woman while they sat in a car waiting for his gate to open; the woman was shot multiple times and hospitalized. Tete, an IBF junior-bantamweight and WBO bantamweight champion known for scoring the fastest knockout in a world title fight, had been training for a comeback after serving a four-year steroid ban, and the South African Police Service is investigating his death.
