Two-time winner Alcaraz out of Wimbledon with injury
Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion and world number two, has withdrawn from this year's Wimbledon and the grass-court swing at Queen's Club due to a persistent right wrist injury sustained in the first round of the Barcelona Open last month. The 22-year-old Spaniard had already pulled out of the French Open, where he is the two-time defending champion, to aid his recovery. Alcaraz announced the withdrawal on Instagram on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, noting that his recovery is progressing but he is not yet ready to compete.
