UChicago men’s tennis team wins NCAA title—its third in five years
The University of Chicago men's tennis team won the NCAA Division III national championship for the third time in five years, defeating No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 4-3 on Friday. Fourth-year Emil Grantcharov clinched the title in the decisive singles match, rallying to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 after the overall match was tied 3-3. The victory, a rematch of the 2024 championship which UChicago also won, gives the Maroons (23-3) their 11th overall team national championship.
