Uefa expects more viewers for Champions League final despite no free-to-air coverage

UEFA anticipates significantly higher UK viewing figures for the upcoming Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, despite TNT Sport not offering free-to-air coverage for the first time in 34 years. Average audiences of around 1 million watched the final on TNT's discovery+ streaming service over each of the past two seasons, but HBO Max — which will co-broadcast the match — is available in more than 10 million UK households. The presence of English club Arsenal in the final is also expected to boost viewership numbers.
