Uefa maintains that World Cup boycott still stands despite Infantino’s apology

UEFA has reaffirmed its threat to boycott FIFA-run competitions, stating that FIFA's public backing of Gianni Infantino 'changes nothing' and that the conditions required to call off the boycott have not been met. UEFA's 55 member associations had agreed last week to boycott FIFA tournaments unless Infantino withdrew his privately-funded FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), which was scrapped last Friday. However, UEFA says it has not received sufficient assurances that similar crises will not occur again, and it continues to express a lack of confidence in Infantino's presidency.
