UK Athletics fined £350,000 over ‘wholly avoidable’ death of Paralympian

UK Athletics has been fined £350,000 for the death of UAE Paralympian Abdullah Hayayei, 36, who was killed during a training session at Newham Leisure Centre in east London in July 2017. Hayayei, a father of five, was preparing to compete at the World Para Athletics Championships when a 440lb practice throwing cage fell on him. Authorities described the death as 'wholly avoidable.'
