Ultramarathon swimmer sets record pace over 55km in crocodile-filled Australian river
British-Australian ultramarathon swimmer Andy Donaldson successfully completed the 55km Dam to Dam Challenge in Western Australia's Ord River, swimming from Lake Argyle to Kununurra in under 12 hours. Donaldson became the first man to complete the gruelling endurance swim, setting a record pace along the way. The challenge was made particularly hazardous by the presence of freshwater crocodiles, including a 2.5-metre crocodile spotted at the start ramp before the swim began.
