
UNC women's lacrosse routs Maryland, heads to NCAA final
Second-seeded North Carolina women's lacrosse team defeated Maryland 16-6 in the NCAA Tournament semifinal on Friday at Martin Stadium, advancing to Sunday's national championship game on ESPNU at noon. The defending champions, now 19-1, closed the game on a 13-3 run and held Maryland scoreless for over 27 minutes, extending their winning streak to 10 games. Tewaaraton Award favorite Chloe Humphrey led the Tar Heels with five goals and an assist, while Addison Pattillo also scored five times.
