Ungar rises in Oilers system to join crowded goalie pool
Connor Ungar, a 24-year-old goalie, signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000 with the Edmonton Oilers on June 18 after impressing across multiple teams last season, including Fort Wayne, Greensboro, and Orlando in the ECHL, and Bakersfield in the AHL. Despite beginning the season as the No. 7 goalie in the Oilers' system without a guaranteed spot, he performed strongly enough at each stop to earn recognition from team management. He is set to play in the AHL this season as part of a crowded Edmonton goalie pool.
