U.S. Open recap Day 8: An ambidextrous tennis prospect comes to New York

Teodor Davidov, a 16-year-old American wild card, showcased an ambidextrous playing style during his junior boys' singles first-round match at the U.S. Open on Day 8 (Sunday) against South Africa's Connor Doig on Court 6. Davidov hits two forehands by switching hands depending on where the ball is directed, and alternates between left- and right-handed serves for the deuce and ad courts respectively. Originally trained as a right-handed player, his father and coach Kalin identified his natural left-hand coordination and developed the unorthodox two-forehand technique through extensive practice.
