US Open runner-up Ben Shelton withdraws from Laver Cup and is replaced by Brandon Nakashima

US Open runner-up Ben Shelton has withdrawn from the Laver Cup, with world No. 16 Brandon Nakashima named as his replacement on Team World for the event at London's O2 Arena from September 25-27. Shelton, who reached a career-high ranking of No. 4 after losing to Alexander Zverev in the US Open final on September 13, 2026, is instead set to play Davis Cup for the United States in the Czech Republic. Nakashima will make his Laver Cup debut alongside teammates including Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur under captain Andre Agassi, facing Yannick Noah's Team Europe which includes Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz.
