Usman Khawaja says Steve Smith talked him out of sharing blame for sandpaper plot

Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has claimed that teammate Steve Smith talked him out of sharing responsibility for the 2018 Cape Town sandpaper ball-tampering scandal. Khawaja's statements suggest that knowledge of the plot was more widespread within the Australian team than previously admitted. Former Australia coach Darren Lehmann has denied Khawaja's claims that many players were aware of the incident.
