USWNT aim to prove they are 'side-by-side' with World Cup champs Spain

The US Women's National Team (USWNT) suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spain, the reigning World Cup champions, on Saturday. Two early defensive errors proved decisive for the Americans, despite them growing into the match as it progressed. The result leaves the USWNT looking to demonstrate they can compete at the level of the current world champions.
