USWNT begin to lock in for Women's World Cup with Spain friendlies despite defensive questions

The United States Women's National Team (USWNT) will face Spain in a pair of friendly matches this month as they prepare for the Women's World Cup. The team will be without key defensive players center back Naomi Girma and defensive midfielder Sam Coffey for these fixtures, raising concerns about their defensive depth. The Spain friendlies are expected to be a significant test for the USWNT's backup defenders ahead of the tournament.
