Usyk eyes Benavidez mega-fight at cruiserweight

Two-time undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (25-0, 16 KOs) is planning a return to cruiserweight in 2027, according to his advisor Sergey Lapin. The 39-year-old Ukrainian, who relinquished his heavyweight titles in June after defeating Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Daniel Dubois, aims to first fight for a vacant world title before pursuing a unification bout against unbeaten cruiserweight champion David Benavidez (32-0, 26 KOs). The goal is for Usyk to become undisputed cruiserweight champion for the second time in his career.
