Van Dijk: Post-Salah frontline has to step up

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk acknowledged that the club's new £364 million forward line, comprising Alexander Isak, Bradley Barcola, Florian Wirtz, and Cody Gakpo, still has work to do despite a promising 2-0 win over Brighton. Isak scored for the sixth consecutive league match, with Barcola providing the assist after a deflected Wirtz shot opened the scoring. Van Dijk noted that while Mohamed Salah, who departed in the summer and has since scored 10 goals in 10 games for Trabzonspor, has not been missed, the next generation must continue to step up.
