Vegan Forest Green deny fan bacon sandwich beef

Forest Green Rovers, the world's first fully vegan football club, have denied that a Morecambe supporter was ejected from their New Lawn Stadium for eating a bacon sandwich during a National League match on Saturday. The club issued an official statement dubbed 'baconbuttygate,' clarifying that the ejection was due to 'over exuberance' from the fan after repeated warnings, and had nothing to do with the consumption of meat. Forest Green Rovers have been certified by the Vegan Society since 2017 and serve an entirely plant-based menu at their ground.
