Vermont Green FC Qualifies for 2027 US Open Cup

Vermont Green FC has qualified for the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup by winning both the 2026 USL League Two championship and the 2026 Hank Steinbrecher Cup, securing one of 16 automatic berths for non-professional clubs. The club will enter the tournament in the First Round, historically played in March, marking their third Open Cup qualification in four years. As Vermont had already qualified via the Steinbrecher Cup, their league title passed an additional berth to San Francisco City FC, and the 2027 edition will be the 112th running of the competition, which dates back to 1913.
