Verstappen signs surprise new Red Bull deal

Max Verstappen has signed a contract extension with Red Bull Racing, keeping the four-time Formula 1 world champion at the team until the end of the 2030 season. The announcement was made on the eve of the Dutch Grand Prix and ends prolonged speculation about his future, which had included reported interest from Mercedes. The extension comes despite significant changes at Red Bull, including the departures of Adrian Newey, Christian Horner, and Helmut Marko, as well as race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase agreeing to join McLaren no later than 2028.
