Viktor Hovland wins Travelers in Monday playoff, Scottie Scheffler misses short birdie putt

Viktor Hovland won the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, after making a 7-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole Monday morning. Scottie Scheffler, who had forced the playoff by sinking an 8-foot par putt in near darkness Sunday night, missed a 4-foot birdie putt on the par-4 18th to hand Hovland the victory. Hovland had overcome a two-shot deficit on the back nine during Sunday's round before the playoff was necessary.
