Vuelta a Espana 2026: Enric Mas takes title, Matthew Brennan misses sixth stage win

Spain's Enric Mas clinched the 2026 Vuelta a Espana overall title on the final day of the race. Britain's Matthew Brennan, who won five stages during the race, finished fourth on the concluding 112km stage in Granada, missing out on a record sixth debut Grand Tour stage win. Overwhelming pre-race favourite Tadej Pogacar had abandoned the race on stage eight after sustaining multiple injuries in a crash that required surgery.
