Warren confirms WBA belt on line for Fury, Joshua

Promoter Frank Warren has confirmed that a version of the WBA heavyweight title will be on the line when Tyson Fury faces Anthony Joshua on December 11 in Cardiff. Warren stated he received official confirmation from the WBA that the belt would be contested in the fight, which is also being promoted by Turki Alalshikh's Ring Magazine. Current WBA heavyweight champion Murat Gassiev, who won the title in 2025 by defeating Kubrat Pulev, told ESPN he had not been contacted by the WBA and was uncertain what the bout would mean for his championship status.
