Vanderbilt baseball executed a hidden ball trick against Alabama during their SEC series opener on April 30, 2026, at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Third baseman Brodie Johnston retained the ball while pitcher Connor Fennell pretended to pick up the rosin bag behind the mound, fooling Alabama's John Lemm into straying off third base and allowing Johnston to tag him out. The trick play occurred in the bottom of the fifth inning with runners on first and third and no outs.
