Watson among Britons through in US Open qualifying

Heather Watson advanced through the first round of US Open qualifying, joining other British players in progressing in the tournament. Watson is aiming for her first main draw appearance at the New York Grand Slam event in five years. Several other Britons also won their first-round qualifying matches.
