'We will never participate in Formula 1 just to put a sticker on the side of a car'

BYD special advisor Alfredo Altavilla has stated that the Chinese automotive giant will only consider entering Formula 1 under one specific scenario, ruling out any involvement purely for branding purposes. BYD has been increasingly linked with F1 in recent months, and in April, BYD vice president Stella Li confirmed the company met with Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali in Shanghai, with both sides remaining in regular contact. The discussions are driven by F1's growing focus on electrification and BYD's expanding presence in the global automotive market.
