Weathers placed on IL with left forearm flexor strain day after early exit

New York Yankees pitcher Ryan Weathers was placed on the 15-day injured list on Sunday with a left forearm flexor strain, one day after leaving a game early against the Toronto Blue Jays. Weathers exited in the fourth inning on Saturday after his 72nd pitch, during a 4-3 Yankees loss at Yankee Stadium. The injury interrupts what had been a breakout season for the left-hander.
