West Ham appoint Parker to replace Nuno

West Ham United have appointed Scott Parker as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half year contract, replacing Nuno Espírito Santo who was sacked after a 3-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion left the club eighth in the Championship. Parker, who made 129 appearances for West Ham between 2007 and 2011 and was a former club captain, has previously earned three Championship promotions as a manager with Bournemouth, Fulham, and Burnley. He will take charge for the first time in Wednesday's match against Cardiff City, with Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville, Billy Lepine, and Mark Noble joining his coaching setup.
