What Qatar GP date firmness means for F1 rescheduling canceled Bahrain or Saudi Arabia races

The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Formula 1 Grands Prix, both scheduled for April 2026, were canceled following the outbreak of conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran on February 28. The president of the Qatar motorsport federation has stated that Qatar's Grand Prix will not move its date to accommodate any rescheduled race, complicating F1's efforts to fit a replacement event into the calendar. F1 CEO Derek Chang indicated in May that rescheduling one race toward the end of the 2026 season might be possible, but adding it would risk creating an unprecedented four consecutive race weekends.
