Wheelchair racer Woods keen to build on World medal success

Scottish wheelchair racer Melanie Woods, 31, won bronze medals in both the T54 800m and 1500m at the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships in India. She opened her 2025 season in Arbon, Switzerland, finishing second twice over 800m and second and third in the 1500m at the Swiss Championships and Daniela Jutzeler Memorial events. Woods is now targeting stronger performances at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Nottwil, Switzerland, running Thursday to Saturday, where she hopes better weather will allow her to improve on her times alongside fellow Briton and recent Boston Marathon winner Eden Rainbow-Cooper.
