During F1's Miami GP sprint qualifying, Williams driver Alex Albon advanced to SQ2 with a lap of 1m30.216s, but that lap was later deleted for exceeding track limits at Turn 6. The infringement was not detected in real time, meaning Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson had already been eliminated in SQ1 and could not be reinstated despite his team's hopes. The FIA explained the delayed detection was linked to tyre marks left on the asphalt by other championships racing at the venue.
