Why Duke's Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, UCLA's Nikola Kusturica, Texas' Marcus Spears can't enter the 2027 draft

Three standout college basketball players — Duke's Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, UCLA's Nikola Kusturica, and Texas' Marcus Spears — are ineligible for the 2027 NBA Draft due to eligibility rules, meaning they will play at least two seasons of college basketball before becoming draft-eligible. CBS Sports highlights that despite being among the best and youngest players in college basketball this season, draft rules prevent their early entry. Their earliest possible draft eligibility would be 2028.
