Why Hamilton's Singapore GP really imploded

Lewis Hamilton finished sixth at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix after failing to pit during a mid-race virtual safety car period triggered by Lance Stroll's stricken Aston Martin. Ferrari had instructed Hamilton to pit, but a radio communication fault meant the message did not reach him, leaving him on old soft tyres for an unrealistically long final stint. Teammates Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli both took advantage of the cheap VSC stop and were able to maintain stronger positions ahead of Hamilton.
