Why hat-trick hunter Jake is aiming high for Glasgow 2026 and Neil wants to be a local hero

Scottish middle-distance runner Jake Wightman, a 2022 World 1500m champion, is targeting gold in the mile at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after winning two bronze medals at previous Commonwealth Games (Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022). He was pre-selected for Glasgow 2026 last autumn and recently won the 800m at the UK Championships. Wightman says he feels no pressure to simply medal this time and is aiming for victory at Scotstoun.
