Why is Tyson Fury fighting in Thailand?

Tyson Fury, 37, is set to fight Mariusz Wach on Friday night in Pattaya, Thailand, at a small venue holding just 1,500 people with no live television broadcast. This follows Fury's comeback victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April 2025 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, after he ended an 18-month retirement that began following his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. Fury is using the Thailand base for training as he eyes a potential heavyweight super-fight against fellow Briton Anthony Joshua.
