Why Matthias Jaissle’s Newcastle isn’t working (yet)

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle is under scrutiny after consecutive 4-1 away defeats have exposed defensive vulnerabilities and a lack of attacking creativity. His team has conceded heavily and struggled to create chances, with a unconventional 3-1-6 formation used in their home match against Aston Villa drawing particular criticism from fans. The poor run of results follows a promising start to the season under the new manager.
