Why Norris has started his own racing team

Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has launched LN4 Fusion, a single-seater racing team set to compete in Formula 4, Formula 3, and potentially Formula 2, alongside a separate talent development initiative called the LN4 Legacy Programme, led by former Alpine sporting director Julian Rouse. The announcement was made ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on September 3, 2026, and received hundreds of job applications within an hour of being revealed. Norris noted that discussions about forming the team began the previous year, and he had not expected to launch such a venture this early in his career.
