Why Norris was “surprised” to claim Dutch GP pole position
Lando Norris claimed pole position for the 2026 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, despite feeling he had his worst Turn 1 of the weekend during his qualifying lap. He compensated by committing harder through the remainder of the lap, which proved successful. Qualifying was made more challenging by intermittent rain and gusting winds that caused fluctuating grip levels throughout the session.
