Why the Community Shield is in Cardiff this year

Arsenal and Manchester City will contest the 2024 FA Community Shield at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, rather than the usual venue of Wembley Stadium. Wembley is unavailable due to The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn' tour occupying the venue from August 14–19. This is not the first time the shield has moved venues, with Leicester's King Power Stadium hosting in 2022 and Villa Park stepping in during the 2012 London Olympics.
