Why Wimbledon’s grass has a special place in tennis doubles star Gaby Dabrowski’s heart
Canadian doubles star Gaby Dabrowski, ranked world No. 3 in women's doubles and a two-time Grand Slam winner, returned to tennis in 2024 just weeks after undergoing two breast cancer surgeries, competing on the grass-court circuit with then-partner Erin Routliffe. The pair won the Nottingham Open, reached the final at the Eastbourne Open, and reached the Wimbledon final, where they lost 7-6, 7-6 to Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend. The 34-year-old says the 2024 grass-court season holds deep personal significance, though she missed part of the 2025 grass season after breaking her ribs before Roland Garros.
