Wild trade for 2-time Cup champions Coleman, Maatta

The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Blake Coleman and defenseman Olli Maatta from the Calgary Flames on July 2 in exchange for defenseman Jake Middleton and three draft picks. Coleman, a 34-year-old two-time Stanley Cup champion with Tampa Bay (2020, 2021), posted 35 points in 69 games last season, while Maatta, a two-time Cup winner with Pittsburgh (2016, 2017), recorded 15 points in 43 games split between Calgary and Utah.
