Williams guarantees first Wales boxing medal

Heavyweight boxer Connor Williams from Swansea has secured at least a bronze medal, guaranteeing Wales their first boxing medal, after defeating Niue's Duken Holo Tutakitoa-Williams by split decision in his quarter-final bout on July 28, 2026. Four of five judges scored the fight in Williams' favour, with teammates Rosie Eccles and Owain Harris-Allan watching from the stands. Williams stated he is aiming for gold and would be disappointed with anything less than the top prize.
