Willie Mullins fined and Cheltenham Festival second disqualified under medication rules
Trainer Willie Mullins has been fined £1,100 and his horse Final Demand disqualified from last season's Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival after Mullins admitted two rule breaches. Final Demand, who had finished second to stablemate Kitzbuhel in the Grade 1 contest, was found to have run with mepivacaine, a Category B prohibited substance and local anaesthetic, in its system. Mullins received a £1,000 fine for the medication breach and a £100 fine for failing to declare the use of mepivacaine on the horse's pre-race medical declaration forms, with prize money to be reallocated.
