Wimbledon 2026: Arthur Fery unable to emulate Andy Murray as fairytale ended by Alexander Zverev in semi-finals

Britain's Arthur Fery, a wild-card entry, was beaten in straight sets by French Open champion Alexander Zverev in the first men's singles semi-final at Wimbledon on Friday. Fery was only the fifth British man to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals and was attempting to become just the second Briton after Andy Murray to reach the men's singles final in the Open era, which began in 1968. Zverev will now face defending champion Jannik Sinner in Sunday's final, after Sinner defeated Novak Djokovic in the other semi-final.
