Wimbledon 2026 Favourites: Sinner Leads, Alcaraz Out

Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion and world number one, has been ruled out of Wimbledon 2026 due to a tendon-sheath inflammation in his right wrist, an injury sustained in April at the Conde de Godó tournament that also kept him out of Madrid, Rome, and the French Open. With Alcaraz absent, defending champion Jannik Sinner is now considered the top favourite for the grass-court Grand Slam, which is scheduled to begin at the end of June at the All England Club. Novak Djokovic and a strong field of contenders are also expected to challenge for the title.
