Wimbledon quarterfinal recap: A snapped streak ends in heartache for Taylor Fritz
Alexander Zverev, the No. 2 seed and French Open champion, defeated Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in the Wimbledon quarterfinals on Day 10, ending Fritz's seven-match winning streak against him. Zverev landed his first serve at over 80 percent during the match, advancing to the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in his career, having never previously gone beyond the fourth round. Fritz, the No. 6 seed and last remaining American man in the draw, was eliminated despite holding a 10-5 head-to-head record over Zverev coming into the match.
