Serena Williams, 44, has withdrawn from the Wimbledon women's doubles alongside her sister Venus, 46, after failing to recover from a knee injury sustained during her singles match against Maya Joint on Tuesday. The Williams sisters had been granted a wild card into the doubles draw and were scheduled to play their first-round match on Saturday. The withdrawal also marked the end of Serena's singles comeback after nearly four years away from the game.
